COURSE DESCRIPTION
Imparting the skills of para-counselling into your workforce can improve the social sustainability reporting for your organisation. Before going further into this topic, let’s answer the question: What is para-counselling?
Para-counseling refers to a type of counseling provided by individuals who have not received formal training as professional counselors but have been trained in basic counseling skills.
The experiential workshop will cover basic counseling skills, active listening, empathy, communication techniques, and cultural sensitivity. Participants can also be encouraged to share their own experiences and discuss strategies for addressing workplace exclusion.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of basic counseling skills
- Build cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Identify and address issues related to workplace exclusion
- Practice para-counseling techniques
TARGET AUDIENCE
MSME and SME Managers, Business Support Organization staff, Sustainability Professionals, HR practitioners, the general public.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
For the learners to be enrolled in this course, he/she will be screened for the following:
- Literacy and numeracy capabilities equivalent to WPLN level 2 and above
- At least 1-year of experience providing support services or peers.

Learners who have successfully completed will receive a Statement of Attainment from Skillsfuture Singapore titled “Para-counselling” and Certificate of Attendance issued by Blended Concept Pte Ltd and Environiche LLP.
