When your loved ones needs your support emotionally, are you equip to step-up to the task?

Professional intervention from trained counselors might not always be available when you are in need. Para-counseling can be an important competency to enhance meaningful interaction and emotional support for your clients, co-workers, loved ones. The course aims to equip individuals with the fundamental knowledge and skills in counselling engagement, when working alongside with certified counselling professionals in their daily work.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, participants will
• Provide engagement and support to clients throughout the counselling process according to the care plans
• Apply communication methods relating to para-counselling, including listening and questioning techniques
• Recognise barriers of communication in the communication process with clients
• Apply active listening skills and questioning techniques when communicating with clients
• Maintain client confidentiality and privacy taking into considerations ethics related to providing engagement and support for clients

Duration:
21 hours including face-to-face learning, online learning and assessment

This course is eligible for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) WSQ Funding for participants who are Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Certification
